Did I mess this up?

I just booked two tickets for my parents online through the United website. They will be traveling by bus from Munich to Salzburg on British Airways "flight" number 9300. I paid for the tickets with my credit card. Upon booking, the itinerary summary says, "International travelers, please. . . Bring the CREDIT CARD used for purchase." Now, I won't be with them on this trip. Is it going to cause them problems at check-in if they don't have my credit card? What is the best way to handle this? Thanks for your advice.

I take it that you paid for an e-ticket for your parents. I would err on the side of caution, and do the following. Xerox your credit card. Handwrite a note on it that your parents are authorized to use it for the tickets that you have charged. Sign it, and give a contact number for you that will be valid on the day they travel.

It is unlikely that they will be asked for this documentation. But should they be, they will be able to produce it.

Thanks for the info and advice about the Xerox copy. Surprisingly, these are for paper tickets to be mailed to me. Does that change anything?

Agree w/SanDiego1K and to err on the side of caution.

But for the record, I have never had a problem purchasing numerous tickets for my parents using my credit card. They have never been asked for the card. My parents and I have the same last name so maybe this has something to do w/it?

For me as well, I have been asked for the credit card used to purchase, did not have it on me and have never had a problem either.

Also had to laugh at the paper ticket comment, I do not know if your parents are like mine, but they refuse to fly on an e-ticket as "it's not as good as paper in your hand!!!" (possibly true if you need to switch to another airline). Whenever we travel together, I make them fly on e-tickets, just to make them squirm just a little (evil kid!).

My kids go to college in the East (NJ & NY),I live in California. When I purchase tix(online) for them I go to the CTO here in town, show my CC and they check it off (or whatever they do).Never had a problem. I really wonder if it would matter at all.
