Delayed Flight
What type of compensation can I expected if my flight were delayed for 2 hours? For 4 hours? Are there any key pharses that I could mentioned to get me additional compensation? Any advise would be greatly appreciated!

Daffy,
It really depends a lot on where you are in the food chain with your status and ticket type. If you fly a lot but not an automatic member of the lounges (e.g. Red Carpet Club) you may say "may I have complimentary use of the Red Carpet Club while I wait?". This has only worked for me 1 out of 5 tries. However, if this fails, they may give you a voucher for a free meal/drinks at one of the concessionaries. Unfortunately, policies on this don't seem to be consistent (on United that is) so do you know if you are going to get anything. Calling the Premier Exec number in my case to set something up did not help either. Moral of the story is, it doesn't hurt to ask, but the pickings are slim

The compensation is piece of mind knowing the airlines took the extra time fixing the aircraft, and/or not flying in bad weather.
I am a frequent flyer and have increasingly observed people wanting something for free quite often. What has happened to people? If you push too much; then they will fly broken airplanes in unsafe situations.
