Multiple entries to hotel breakfasts
Please humour this most minor of questions probably based on an inflated concern! When I'm traveling for work I often take the opportunity to switch to OMAD (one meal a day), surviving for a week on a hearty (albeit low carb and sugar) hotel breakfast and doing a water fast for the remaining 23 hours of the day. As a temporary period of fasting I find it works rather well. However, lately I've been worrying about the effects of coffee on nutrient absorption. Its effects on iron absorption are well-studied, for example.
If I went down at, say, 6.30am for coffee, and then at 8am for breakfast, would most hotels have a problem letting me back in? I can see them ticking me off the first time and then making a fuss the second time. I love coffee and don't want to either go without it or step out of the hotel so early to find a coffee shop. On the other hand, if it's my one meal of the day, I'm worried I can't really afford to inhibit absorption of its contents!

Could you just tell the employee when you arrive the first time that youre just getting coffee and will be back later? A normal human being wouldnt find that objectionable.
Or could you do coffee in your room and then just do one breakfast?

Heck, there was even an airport hotel by Antalya (AYT) that had a "breakfast" for late-night arrivals, and then another breakfast for the more expected wake-up times.

I do this often - 3 different properties (2 Hiltons and a JW Marriott) x 11 mornings (maybe 6 different hosts?) during a recent Europe trip. As suggested, just tell the person checking rooms you want to grab coffee but come back later for your breakfast.

Even if not telling the breakfast hosts that I'm leaving the breakfast place but will come back a while later that morning, at the time of my return to the breakfast place it usually works for me to just inform whomever that I'm just returning to breakfast. Keep in mind that for rooms where multiple guests are registered, it's not all that uncommon for some person from the room to arrive and start breakfast before others in the same room arrive for breakfast.
