FT for the win on trivia night
Mrs. travelinterpreters has been dragging me to trivia night at our local place for quite awhile. She is actually really good, but I rarely try to answer any questions ( I do enjoy the bulleit rye Manhattan that they serve though! ). I have a fear of being put on the spot and answering the questions wrong, even though my job requires me to be seen sometimes on international news channels, answering a question in a packed bar is intimidating.
But.... this last weekend that all changed when the category was " international airport codes". I told the guy that leads our team " as soon as the letters come up on the screen, click your answer button". He had a confused look on his face, but agreed to try. There were 20 airport codes, and thanks to reading FT often I was able to run the whole catagory!! One other team thought they could try to click in faster than us once, but they had no idea where ICN was!
Thanks to all of the FTers here who have helped me learn about random airports across the globe. For that one night, I was THAT guy at trivia.

most of them were pretty obvious if you have a general knowledge of geography. SYD AUK BKK SIN LIM MIA LHR JNB MAD... there were a few like YYZ, GRU, and SCL that didn't obviously give away the city in the airport code.
The whole thing was a lot of fun!!!
