747 "ghost ship" on JFK runway on Jan. 9

On Delta metal Saturday waiting for take-off. Unmarked 747 waiting as well.

Any ideas? Plane about to be retired? Unmarked military?

There is a member of the Royal Family (Saudi I believe) that often keeps an unmarked 747 at JFK IIRC. Someone else will have to confirm but this isnt an unusual plane to see there.

However, I hope the white 747 isn't parked on the runway.

There are quite a few all-white 747Fs -- off the top of my head, Atlas, China Air Lines, Kalitta, Cargo Air Lines....

If it had a green stripe it's the Saudi one, if it's plain white I think it's just a plain old cargo plane. I think CAL Cargo.

Who's the successor to Evergreen Airways? Their crew base used to be JFK...

I was once waiting to take off after a 747 on an ERJ 175 and the wake turbulence was real.

You guys have to check the flight tracker and go on the website flightaware or FR24.com. Look it up! See for yourself.

I was wondering why I was denied 1P for that flight earlier...

Google Mosaic realtime ATM airport tracker to see movement of aircraft on the tarmac at major airports plus takeoffs and landings. However, if the aircraft is parked with its transponder turned off, the aircraft doesn't appear. Aircraft are generally identified by airline carrier and flight number, but private aviation takeoffs and landings are shown too.

I used to see an almost unmarked one at Heathrow about 10 years ago. Had a registration number and I understood that it was related to the royal family of Brunei.

I spotted one of these way back in '04: What was that plane?

A reply then had a link with a good pic.
