Are you trying to prove some point by brute force? I'm really saddened by the selfishness of people who defy common sense advisories and put themselves and others at risk justifying it with some notion of liberty and freedom. Give me a break and try to come together on this.

You're not understanding, and that's ok. We're not talking about going to work at a place (where you can observe distancing and hygiene rules) in order to provide for your family. OP asked about taking a completely unnecessary trip by flying one way, and then driving the opposite way, across the whole country, just because sitting in the apartment wasn't fun. That is both selfish and stupid in the current environment. It has nothing to do with liberty, freedom, or any constitutional rights. It's just basic common sense.

For the third time, in my city, 100 people have been admitted to the hospital for the 'Rona over the past five weeks and we have over 6200 hospital beds. How is this politically motivated? Where is the dire problem with heathcare? Despite what the media shows you, this non-headline grabbing math applies to a very vast majority of the county. A soft reopening as we control the "fresh eruptions and deaths" is what we need to do. Deaths will occur. That is because of the disease, not politics. Unless people want to live off of the grid, grow their own food, forgo Amazon deliveries, and shun heathcare and seeing literally anyone for a few years in complete and utter social isolation...this virus will not go anywhere!

Plus, if you are concerned about the next 6 weeks of being locked in your appartment...try the next two years! The virus, like H1N1, the common cold Cornas, etc ..it is not going away!

I did not call you out specifically....and I have come together for 6 weeks now. I have done my due diligence and now it is time to open up and realize that cowering in your home is no way to live. Again freedom is a scary thing.

Nope...common sense is realizing that you can't protect yourself from a virus and that "safety" is not something that can be assured. That is common sense!

The question we have to ask is, “Are we trying to stop people from dying from the virus, or are we trying to prevent people from GETTING the virus?” There is a huge difference in the needed response to those 2 questions. No amount of remediation, no amount, as told by many doctors and virologists, can prevent people from GETTING the virus. It will work its way through the population as any other virus would. It now is clear that the response by our leaders is an attempt to prevent people from GETTING the virus, and it’s killing us in dollar signs.

Why were you cowering? And if you were cowering at home, you would or should certainly be cowering in a hotel room, or at a gas station, or in an airport, because those are high-throughput places where picking up the virus is much easier and more likely than in your home. Your perceived individual freedom may come at a greater cost to you (and others) than you perceive.

Someone posted in a another thread that ending stay-at-home restrictions now would be like stopping birth control after two months because you didn't get pregnant.

That is uncalled for and really should be viewed by the Site Staff as a removable post. Why aren't you blaming the FA who has made the decision to work? Or what about the pilots who are flying the plane or the GA or the TSA guy/gal....see the problem with your attack? Again there is no way humanly possible to prevent the spread of a virus.
