Can I skip my connecting flight from CUN to LAX?

All you have to do when you check in is to make sure they just check you bag to CUN. Just tell them you have a 24 hour in CUN and you need your bag for the hotel and there should be no questions, it's normal. Missing the flight to LAX is no problem based on what you have told us.
