I once received $20 for switching from aisle seat to aisle seat in F. I actually did it because it wasn't a big deal to me, but the guy came by a minute later and handed me a $20 bill and said thanks. It was a nice gesture, but definitely unnecessary.

never had a problem with my daughter , upgraded at gate to F , getting on board and asking a fellow passenger to switch seats,
in fact most times, the passenger sees us boarding, and asks me if I would like to change seats

but one million dollars would be about right

So I am nicely settled in my seat, you ask me to move to accommodate your children and wave $20 in my face? I do not like your chances of success.

Now plane is aircraft swap to lie-flat 777! I can’t change seats on app but assuming flight stays at 777, a lot of people will be getting free upgrades. GA should be able to have an easier way to help. Wow. 777!

777 but GA couldn’t help. Nice older guy in seat but he was still willing to switch. I still gave him a future cocktail bill because I needed his seat most.

Of course now we have to return to the gate. I love this 777. Fingers crossed.

our ticket is JN so hopefully we still get F if needed.

For what it is worth, I usually travel alone and have swapped like-for-like seats in F/J many times to accommodate families and such. Not really a big deal. I kind of agree with the above that having a $20 waved at me would be off-putting.

Our flight had a 5 hour delay but we had to deplane with uncertainty and he returned the bill. I told him that I’d return it if we were lucky to not get cancelled.

flight ultimately and thankfully departed and we landed after 1am. I’m very thankful for the seat swap. I tried to return the bill after departing plane but he refused it.
great crew and I loved the 777!
