Question Bag tag airport code question

Is there any reason why the "V" in CVG was NOT printed in reverse image on the rightmost bag tag?

Perhaps to more easily distinguish it from a similar airport code?

Or Trump.

First I was going to write "But what about PVG?" but on second thought I think you're right. Especially if we'd assume this is meant to facilitate ground handling in CVG and not so much MSP (where the tag was printed), since DL serves only one INTL destination from CVG, and that is exactly CDG.

I’ve gotten tags printed like that before.

unfortunately, I can’t remember the destination(s) or airline(s).

Maybe it is to distinguish a "V" instead of a "U" as someone who may be reading it quickly may misread it. Since this is Delta, maybe this should be in the Delta Forum where someone who works for the airline may actually read this and respond quicker.

I searched the interwebs for a DL tag for PVG and I found one. It does not have the V printed in reverse image.

Sure, I cannot open a second topic without breaking FlyerTalk ToS, but I invite a moderator to move it over to DL.

Well, Southwest serves another LA? (LAS) and even another ?AX (JAX) and but no other airports with a code of L?X except LAX. If there was a possibility for a manual missort, it wouldn't be caused by the middle letter. Weird. Once in a blue moon, a WN flight could be chartered to LEX, but would that justify printing every LAX label differently?

Intrigued, I read the entire IATA Resolution 740 that is the spec for luggage tags, and it doesn't mention reverse printing at all!

I thought some tag printers just do that.. I've definitely seen it before with other airports.
