Question For Pilots

Greetings! I posted this in the wrong section last time. Since I saw similar post in this section I hope I have it right this time.

I am currently in debate with a group of people who swear the Earth is flat. Yes there are many people that believe this. My question to you pilots, being the foremost authority on such a subject is this. How many of you have witnessed an undeniable curvature in the Earth while flying, and at what altitude were you? I would really appreciate any input. I know its hard to take seriously but you will be helping a lot of people who are very confused. Thanks!

The naked eye cannot see the curvature of the earth, unless you are in space!

You would be very surprised at the creative science that they have to backup many of their claims. It's much more difficult to disprove than you think. I actually do it just for fun, but I thought maybe a good proof for them to see would be people that actually fly and see the curvature of the Earth every day. From my research I gather that you can see the curvature of the Earth at round 50 to 70thousand feet. A lot of people that have flown the Concorde recall seeing a very pronounced curvature especially around the northern hemisphere.

The group is called "Official Flat Earth and Globe Discussion Forum" on Facebook. If you're curious you should give it a try and debate science with these people it's a rather frustrating at times though I must warn you.

Just Google the voyager nonstop rtw flight, and show it to them. Any more effort than this constitutes wasting your own brain cells. And, asking pilots for comments is an unnecessary waste of THEIR time.

Debating people using science and facts who do not believe in science and facts is a waste of your and their time, though mostly your time.

Welcome to Flyertalk, JesseBecka Sprague As one who has flown on the Concorde I can attest to the fact that I did see the curvature of the earth.
Having said that, I believe that this discussion is more appropriate for the OMNI Forum. However, as you do not have the requisite posts and length of time on FT you do not qualify for OMNI.
Therefore, I am locking this thread.
