I wouldn't fly on that airline. But yes, a sandwich out of the dumpster would be better.

What is going on here? lol

It doesn't look very good, but I'll bite and say it looks quite a bit better than US domestic Y these days. When was the last time in domestic Y you got a full, hot meal? Probably about the same as intl Y on the big 3. Even this airline, with its stellar Skytrax rating, is doing as well as the big 3.

Maybe we can have SMI/J and Doug replaced with a more Respected Leader.

Or maybe they can make some changes I'm gonna like and start selling food onboard long haul, like Air Asia X (the X is for Xtra opportunities for Xtra charges) or Norwegian.

You bring up a good point. I've often wondered how those major U.S. airline
CEOs can stand to eat and drink the garbage that they serve in first class.
I recently flew 4 hours in domestic first class during lunch hours and I was
served a mystery burrito with some chicken meat and rice. I would not even
pay 99 cents to buy it at Taco Bell. The no-name "white" wine looked
almost green and tasted like sewage, or what I imagine sewage tastes like.
Even the flight attendant said "you sure you wanna eat that?" At that point,
I felt like Gordon Ramsey trying food at failing restaurants. Even some of
waiters serving him said the food was bad.

After you look at the cockpit I'm sure you'll kiss the floor of any US airline.

No, it doesn't look gourmet, but still looks better than most coach food. I would dig in without thinking twice, especially to have the experience of flying on Air Koryo.

I don't know - it was over 17 years ago. Are there some FTers that still fly coach internationally?

All of those individual containers are definitely old school - it's how I remember airplane food being served when I was a kid.

Well, it doesn't look that bad so I'd try it at least. Whether it would actually taste OK, who knows.

Honestly, it looks at least as good than the crap I was served on a TATL Lufthansa flight in coach a few weeks ago.

That's the best-looking rice I've ever seen in coach, I can tell you that much. It looks fluffy--even if it's actually clumpy, that beats the dried-out stuff I've encountered elsewhere.

Based on appearance, I'd at least give it a try. Of course, we can't smell it, which may make it more or less appetizing.
