Help Needed on How to Get a Visa Prior to Arrival
This is my first time that I need to get a Visa prior to arrival. I have a few questions that I hope someone could answer:
- The instruction form says I need to provide evidence of funds for my stay. Should I just send them a copy of my bank account statement?
- The application form asked for my flight details (departure/arrival city and dates) and the address of the hotel I will be staying at. I called the embassy and they said I don't need to pay for these yet, they just would like to see reservations. Could I write down one hotel on the application and then change it if needed?

You're a US citizen? I have done my applications in person but I have never had to show a hotel reservation or proof of funds. I haven't done Cameroon but my experience with other African countries is they aren't too worried about these for Americans. (I have had to show flight reservations for several countries)
A visa service would know exactly what info you really need, but the cheap route would be to do the bogus reservation, as suggested, if you don't want to take any chances.
