Crap, I usually have a coffee on the flight.

Funny thing was, last time I flew I was up at the very front. One of the pilots had a coffee brought to him as well.

I usually drink coffee on international flights. I ll bring bottled water.

I think that entire thing about highjacking, flaps, etc that I fell for a few posts ago discredits all 30 secrets.

That rumor gets repeated with some frequency, probably because it makes for a great "urban legend", not unlike the one about the lady who on a trip to Mexico adopted what she thought was a stray chihuahua that when she got it home and took it to the vet for it's shots turned out not to be a dog at all but a mexican sewer rat, or my personal favorite, the one about the girl who got a spider caught in her beehive hairdo that laid eggs and the baby spiders ate into her brain.
The last time the subject of dirty potable water tanks came up on another aviation-related website, several people in the industry stated that there are now very strict regulations in place in the US regarding how often the water from the tanks must be tested for cleanliness and how often the tanks themselves must be disinfected.
That's not to say that the tanks weren't sometimes allowed to reach a disgusting state in the past, and the present strict regulations regarding potable water tank maintenance would seem to indicate that they were at some point.

The comments are priceless. Some of them act like #29 has instantly enabled hijackers everywhere.

I like the fake pilots coming on with their own secrets. "We usually fly the plane upside down to reduce air sickness."

Hmmm...some of these secrets are indeed quite amusing, however quite a number of them aren't really "secrets" to me...or to most of you I suspect.

If #25 was widely true, wouldn't many, many people be getting sick? However, I can credibly believe #20. It wouldn't necessarily make me sick - just build up my immune system!

When I see articles like this, I love to read the comments. While the original author may actually understand the principles of writing (spelling, punctuation, staying on point, etc.) there is no such pressure on the commenters.

Thanks for the link. Coffee-flavoured maggot water indeed! So hot beverages made on board are all out. I won't pay for booze on domestic flights. That leaves canned soft drinks that I usually don't indulge in on land and juice in cans/Tetrapaks.

I will have to try #5 on my next flight
