Lost Baggage any advice?
I travelled from Orlando to Lagos Nigeria on the 28th of December for a wedding, my booking and reservation was with British airways, getting to the airport i found out their flight was delayed for two hours and the attendant informed me that i wouldnt make my connecting flight at heathrow so they had booked me on a Jetblue flight to JFK where i would can an on-time flight to heathrow and then continue on my original Itinerary.
I had to check in at Jetblue and they checked my bags all the way to lagos, On getting to JFK, it took about 20 minutes to get out of the plane and make it to the other terminal so i could check in for my BA connection, by the time i got to the counter that flight was already boarding and check-in was closed. The BA attendant apologized and said they should have never sent me from Orlando as there was no way i would have had enough time to make that flight.
She decided to change my itinerary again and put me on a KLM flight from JFK to Amsterdam and the amsterdam to Lagos, i asked about my luggage that i had checked in with jetblue and she said it wouldnt be a problem, the luggages will make it fine and she gave me a number to call in Lagos if i had any problems on arrival.
I flew KLM and arrived lagos on the 29th of december, but my bags never made it, through out my entire trip i had no clothes, no nothing, it was a very frustrating experience, i spent my time calling the BA, KLM and Jetblue Customer care for help and i was told that since KLM was the last carrier they are responsible, i filled a baggage loss report with klm and they have been searching for the bags since then.
Its been 2 and a half weeks, I am back home now and both bags have still not been found, i didnt get travel insurance ( i regret that so much now, learnt my lesson) KLM made me fill an inventory list and apparently the bags are still being traced.
Does anyone have any advice for me? what are my chances of these bags being found, im so frustrated, i complaint on the BA website because i believe its all their fault and their incompetence, they replied me and gave me 7500 avios points like that is supposed to help. now im really just defeated.

baggage is most likely with customs in lagos or at jet blue in jfk. either way given the time and customer service issues with both it is unlikely you will get it back unless you or a friend can go and personally look for it. ironically klm will end up having to pay the claim but probably never saw or handled the bag.
