NYC -> MFR
long time lurker, first time poster. apologies if this is the wrong forum.
seeking advice if i should book now or wait for an upcoming flight.
NYC to MFR 08/26
MFR to NYC 09/06
Delta strongly preferred. I missed a window two weeks ago where flights were >$500. Now around $700. The NYC->MFR seems to be the issue with one-ways at $400+. I cant see it rising any higher in the next two days but the price has not dropped in the past two days and seats seem to be disappearing.
Thanks for your advice.

heyglu, welcome to posting on FlyerTalk!
Often purchased fares are higher on weekends and may drop by late Monday night/Tuesday morning. However, you are running up against the 14-day-prior-to-travel mark, so it's possible that waiting until less than 14 days, to purchase might make unavailable the lowest fare buckets.

No one has the crystal ball on fares, so I'm no special seer on predicting fare trends. I just checked Southwest for your dates LGA to PDX and their lowest was $509 RT.
You could check NYC to Eugene, but you probably won't find too much flex with the smaller cities in Oregon.
Also, you could book something on Monday evening; and, if fares drop before 24 hours after ticketing time, immediately cancel and reticket on most carriers without a change fee or penalty, but you then still have to meet the rules of the lowered fares and the 14-day mark is a key mark in many fare markets.
