Good engineering design work by the boys up in Everett.

Hope the 4 FAs sitting at the back, where the galley is, are fine.
seems like impact was worse at the back.

Yep. New pictures on ABC (probably other stations as well just the one I am watching) show debris in the water, on the rocks and at the beginning of the runway.

Either something mechanical or botched landing. Doesn't seem to be weather related.

Well whatever happened, those structural engineers who designed the body need a massive trophy.

Any landing you can walk away from is a good landing - so I guess this was a good one!

I wasn't trying to point fingers I was just responding to someone calling the pilot a hero. I hope he is.

Heard on the radio that "pilot may have radio'ed in about a control problem" - too vague a report to tell us much.

Indeed. Very similar to how the BA38 (also a 772) ended up a few years ago at LHR, although there was no fire on that occasion.

Fortunately, seems like the galley part got sheared off and not the FA/pax section at the rear.

I think it's probably better to wait for a more official stance on this... With major events like this, so much misinformation spreads so quickly these days.

Hope everyone is okay.
