77W Engine Airworthiness Directive?
Ran into it while reading the wiki page on the engine: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General...28GE90-115B.29
But...I don't actually know what this means. It's not really written for public consumption, and surprisingly (to me) the media didn't go all "TERROR IN THE SKIES" over it. Are these that common?
Curious what you all make of it?

It is definitely due to one component. On top of that, the AD is limited to certain serial numbers -which means it is not a generic design problem. If the FAA was concerned about the issue being a generic problem, they would not insist on the 5 day inspection ONLY if both engines had the specific s/n components.

there are about 30 AD's a week. maybe FOX could hire someone with good hair to list the daily AD's at the top of each newscast. there is a set for each airframe(complete). they were printed and updated by xerox on a daily basis, then again on monthly, as i recall. the entire ad "package" on an older 747 was 6-10 feet tall.
would be great if the newscasters would sink their teeth into this, instead of the stuff they specialize in.......10 bad bolts on the heads of 2 airbusses!!!!" more on news at 8pm!!!!
