Terminal desires.
Inspired by this post in "Terminal peeves":
, (was it Carolyn?) here is my list of things I , as a business traveller, would like to see airside in terminals where I might have a longish transit (some of these exist already):
1. M&S, C&A or some similar source of inexpensive reliable underwear, socks, work trousers and shirts. And I don't mean The Sock Shop.
2. A barber/hairdresser. For when you suddenly realise it's time for a trim and your home times never seem to coincide with your hairdressers availability.
3. Chainstore pharmacist - UK airports have Boots, and well done there, sirs & madames. Some other airports could take note.
4. Back and/or foot massage. Special mention to BOM and its blind & partially-sighted foot masseurs & masseuses, and hooray for any airport with proper neck/shoulder massages rather than coin-operated chairs. C'mon LHR, get with it.
why oh why can LHR not have an M&S airside?!

Traveling alone, when I have a seat at the gate but I know if I get up I'll be standing until I board...in an hour or more for a delayed flight: Wouldn't it be really nice if there was a rolling beverage/snack/sandwich cart making the rounds?

Bathroom stalls large enough for a piece of rolling luggage and still leave room to change clothes. Also with shelves in the stall so you don't have to sit non-rolling bags on the floor.
Multiple plugs especially in gate areas so you don't have 20 people fighting for the only one in the terminal. Also, small tables or workstations throughout the terminal so you can get some work done while waiting without having to take up whole tables in bars or restaurants.
Free wifi that actually works. Don't understand how my small local airport can offer it but larger airports don't.

Ditto on the OP's wish for a reliable, reasonably priced source of underwear and socks--for both sexes.
And in the same vein, how about a nail salon? A four-hour layover is the perfect time to get a mani-pedi, and it's always hard to fit this into the few days before I travel. I would love to get it done while in enforced waiting mode.
Another thing I would love is a gym, perhaps with rentable, well-cleaned gym wear, and good locker rooms with showers. (And for all those going "ew, I wouldn't want to get cooties from wearing those clothes/sneakers" may I remind you that people rent bowling shoes every day of the week.). Until about 12 years ago at LHR T4, the BA lounge had a little fitness center, and I loved it.

Bars and restaurants designed for guests with carry-on luggage. You get so tired of wrestling your stuff through densely packed floorspace with little cafe tables, or pulling up at a bar/counter with noplace to put your bags other than the stool next to you.

My genius workaround for this is, where there are limited wall sockets, to have electrified seats, giving off a small but uncomfortable charge, that only switch off when you actually plug in a device.
That way the seats adjacent to power sockets will not be hogged by people who AREN'T EVEN USING THE SOCKETS. I mean, how maddening is that?
