Question about my flight
Right so my friend is leaving India to south America with a stop over in heathrow and Miami with American airlines for Ł650 next month.
Now if I want to join his flight but get on at heathrow the flight costs Ł810. Both prices were checked on the same day.
So I'm wondering could I book the flight from Mumbai and just check in at heathrow. Assuming I check in online online, I would already have a seat reserved and a boarding pass for the other 2 flights so it shouldn't be a problem. Would I still be able to check my baggage in at heathrow as well?
Any help will be great, also let me know if it needs further clarifying.

First of all, welcome to FlyerTalk.
Second, your cunning plan will not work. If you book the ticket from Mumbai and don't take the flight, the rest of your itinerary will automatically be cancelled.

A-B-C being cheaper than B-C is quite common, mainly due to the market from A being different to the market from B.
As said, if you miss a segment on a flight then almost all airlines will cancel the rest of the booking.

Welcome to Flyertalk.
If you search for
hidden city ticketing
you will find hundreds, if not thousands of threads about it, it's easily one of the most popular questions here.
As already mentioned, if you miss a flight segment, usually they will cancel the rest of the flights on the same ticket.
