One day when I had checked bags and was collecting them and was too lazy to pull out my ID, I asked the security monitor (at ATL) if I could just show him my facebook page. It completely worked.
Is this safe? I guess it really is a unique form of identification. What do you think?

My ID was in my wallet, which was buried at the bottom of my stuffed backpack filled with papers, wires, and electronics, and of course my backpack was strapped to my back while my phone was in my hand with facebook open. So yes, it was considerably easier.

I actually did this is SEA, I forgot my ID and ask my friend who dropped me off to go back to my place and get the ID, problem was that our flight was leaving in about 40 mins and roundtrip to get my ID and bring it to me was going to be about 25 to 30 mins. The line to get past TSA was pretty long..... I asked some TSA guy in a suit how I can get past TSA without and ID.... come to find out they have some process. Stood in line, got to the TSA agent that checks your ID and ticket, told her I don't have my ID with me and she calls over another lady. Asked me what type of cards do I have that can use to identify myself and I showed her about 4 or 5 CC's and then she asked me if I have FB, showed her my FB page on my phone as well as a picture of me in that account. Finally they went though my carry on luggage, wiped it to check for residue and gave me a full pat down. By the time this was all done with I actually got thought security before my wife. 10 mins later my friend ended up handing my ID to the TSA agent and she handed it to me... I ran for the flight and eventually made it with about 5 mins to spare.
I have to say the TSA agents were very nice about the entire situation.
