Codeshare & Seat Assignments
Hi all,
Thank you for clicking into this topic. I am currently struggling to find some information about the codeshare between Cathay Pacific & WestJet, as their websites are next to useless in giving a clear-cut answer.
If I read correctly, I am allowed 2 checked baggage going from Calgary to Vancouver (Westjet) & the bags will transfer to Hong Kong automatically. Can some with experience confirm? I've read comments at other sites and this forum where Westjet charges the customer their own checked baggage policy even though they are going on an international flight.
In regards to seat assignment, does anyone know if a Westjet agent has the power to assign Cathay seats for us while I am at the Calgary airport? I prefer the aisle seat for such a long-distance flight, so I would like to choose the seat early.
If anyone is experienced with this, please share. I've normally travelled with Air Canada & Cathay prior to this, but I thought the code-sharing between WestJet & Cathay will make things a little easier.
Thanks again!!
Cheers
