Flight booking anomaly.. help?

Flight booking anomaly.. help?
I'm trying to get from SEA to PPT. I'm not going for over a year but just trying to get a handle on prices.. and I found this quirky situation..
On Skyscanner. Searching a date of 5/26/2012 - 6/2/2012 (approximate date in 2013 i'll be going).
Assume I got down to LAX already. (by Alaska miles, whatever).
Searching LAX - PPT. I see direct flight from Air Tahiti Nui..
Around $1500. Depart 4:30. arrive 10pm. ok no problem.
There's another option for about $1800 from Air New Zealand. I fly LAX to AKL, stopoever, then AKL to PPT. Red Eye LAX to AKL. arrives at like 6am or something. then 10am to PPT. Ok so far no problems.
Now, I search SEA to LAX (say I don't wanna use miles to fly down to LAX myself).
I see a $1620 flight that is Afternon flight SEA to LAX, and a Air New Zealand DIRECT FLIGHT LAX to PPT . 11:50pm - arrive 5:20am
Return is also on Air New Zealand.. similar to Tahiti Nui (late night departure, morning arrival direct into LAX).
The weird thing is, when I search LAX-PPT, i don't see this flight at all.. not even priced anywhere (or priced so high it's out of my scroll range).
In fact when I go on Air New Zealand's website, I don't even see PPT as an airport code it can arrive into.
I thought maybe it's showing Air France? nope. Air France has a different depart time.. So confused..
Can someone familiar with this help?

That flight (NZ4091) is in fact a code share on Air Tahiti Nui (TN101).

However I don't see a red eye flight for Air Tahiti Nui though..
The only flight I see from TN is the 4:30pm departure, arrive 10pm.
They have a red eye flight? this doesn't show up anywhere else..

Air New Zealand no longer has its own flights between LAX-PPT, and the one you are seeing is an ATN code share; i.e., you will be flying an ATN flight on an ATN plane.
Taking ANZ flights from LAX-->AUK--->PPT is quite the long way around, and probably doubles your flying time.
Air Tahiti Nui does have some red-eye flights from LAX-PPT, but only specific days of the week. The schedule changes by season, and it's too early to tell the schedule for May 2013, but, for example, in May 2012, the Sunday night TN 111 leaves LAX at 11:30 p.m. and arrives in PPT at 5:30 a.m. on Monday morning.
