Bag sizing when departing ROR...

I've departed from Koror, Palau twice and both times had to make a stink to getting my carry-on bag to the CO flight in 2009 and 2010. I suspect others have had this problem as well. And those who might be planning a trip there.

Here's the problem. ROR has only one bag sizer and it's an Asiana bag sizer. However Asiana's carry-on restrictions are tighter than CO's. So bags that would pass muster on CO get hastled. And this all takes place before we get to the ticket counter. Both times I had to inform the "bag checkers" that they were using the wrong bag sizer for my flight and that their bag sizer is too small. I seem to recall that both times we had to get a CO agent into the discussion and then we were permitted to take our bags on the plane.

Maybe they've since corrected this problem but in case they haven't, thought I'd pass this on...

p.s. The TSA style security at ROR can run tight or loose. But when it's tight, they are ruthless. I haven't done a lot of international or domestic flying but ROR had the tightest carry-on screening I've experienced. One time they looked in every nook and cranny and I wound up having two travel sized bottles of shampoo tossed because they weren't labeled. Those bottles made it all the way out from SFO, HNL, and GUM with no trouble. Another trip, the ROR security never even looked inside my backpack. Go figure.

Another poster mentioned they carry a tape measure - maybe you could do that with a print out of the CO website size info?

I have had the same problem at CDG in years past when I was flying DL. They tried to impose an AF sizer and weight limits on my luggage, and I had to get a DL supervisor involved to solve the problem.
