First problem is flying from ACT/Waco
It is too expensive, I recommend driving up to DAL or down to AUS, even GRK and going form there will cut the price at least 50%. All within 1.5 hours.
I live in ACT, but have never even flown out of here since making it home. I fly out of DAL and GRK(Killeen Ft Hood).

SWA Austin/San Antonio/Waco to Nashville AA then Nashville to Miami to Quito. Else drive to DFW and AA all the way in. You are likely to have a longish layover.
Try for the Chase SWA cards and a triple play on the CITI AA cards (assuming you can get a business account on both).

Personally, nonstops are always the way to go, particularly when a layover would be in MIA.
