Question: Will I be in trouble ?
Hello all,
I recently purchased an e-ticket with TAM airlines. But the name is in the wrong order.
In my passport it says:
surname: Imambaks
name: Djankie Ina Andj
My E-ticket says: IAIMAMBAKS\DJANKIEMR
I already called TAM airlines, and they told me that the name cannot be changed, and thus I had to cancel the ticket and order a new one (cost me 1000 euro).
But he also said I should be OK since the initials are in my passport. But still he told me that the protocal for him was to tell me that I have to cancel and order a new one.
So what do you think, will I get through? And shall I check-in on the internet, or just check in at the airport?
Thank you vm.

I replied, realised I had misread one important detail of the OP's post, so edited my original post to replace it by "please delete".
I've now come back to find that the two subsequent posters may also have missed that important small detail of the OP's post.
The OP's surname is
Imambaks
The surname printed on the ticket it
IAIMAMBAKS
(emphasis mine)
- i.e., there are two letters there that shouldn't be there.
It's not just a case of the middle names being missing (as I thought when I wrote the original version of my post), it's a case of the middle names having got merged into the last name.
So - the surname in the passport and the surname on the ticket don't match, which means there IS a potential problem.

You're generally allowed 3 characters mis-matched anyways. On top of that, in this case it is just that they are possibly in the wrong order rather than just wrong. So long as you have documentation that shows your full name and you can easily explain that those are your initials I wouldn't worry at all.
