Curious. When a plane is detoured like that, does the airline post the additional miles to your acct or the scheduled miles?

I'm flying MAA-DXB-MAN on Wednesday night and now fully expect to be stuck in Dubai airport. 10 a pint makes it worse

My folks are out in Portugal just now and due to fly home to Glasgow today; however the Easyjet flights have been cancelled. They are over the moon

I'm flying DEL-EWR in a few days. Any ideas if that could be affected? I'd really like to go on my vacation in LAS on time!

It seems the discussions have begun again.... as many cut their flights to Scotland and my not so favourite Irish Airline boss tells the BBC that there is no ash and that his planes have flowen and landed today....

Ryanair said the "red zone" over Scottish airspace where ash has been classified "high-density" was invented by the Met Office and the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

But a CAA spokesperson said: "The CAA can confirm that at no time did a Ryanair flight enter the notified area of high contamination ash over Scotland this morning."
Makes one wonder where else O'Leary is willing to cut corners

I've got an LAX-LHR flight tomorrow night so I'm really hoping the ash just gives us a slight delay as we fly around it and doesn't fully cancel the flight. If the flight is canceled my entire 2 week Europe vacation will be shot

@globalgirlster: Ha! My bet, sadly, is that they don't credit the extra miles.

LH has just tweeted: "UPDATE: Passengers booked from/to Hamburg,Bremen,Berlin,Hanover on 5/25 pls check flight status before departure. http://bit.ly/hsnBzc "

My brother is currently waiting in FRA for a return flight to ARN. I hope he can make it out.

The Ryanair a/c was up at FL410. The published met charts showed a red zone over Scotland from surface to FL200 and next to nothing above FL200. There is ash settling on cars in Orkney and Shetland. No ash indeed Mr O'Leary.

Oh boy, deja vu again. I am in Berlin through Friday and hoping I get some of my memorial day weekend, having already been travelling over last weekend. I really really really hope I do get back. CNN is saying cloud will be over northern Germany, centered on Berling by Thursday. Grrr and double Grr.....

Germany closes HAM, BRE and possibly TXL, SXF, HAJ tomorrow

German Air traffic control (DFS) announced a closure of Hamburg and Bremen on Wednesday, 25.05. Until noon, Berlins Airports and Hannover might become closed too.
