The last eruption in Grmsvtn lasted for 5 days. This should be similar, maybe a few days longer as it more powerful.

Ugh. Same here. Supposed to come back on 5/31 also. Wondering what to do about the trip. Would suck to cancel. Would suck worse to be stuck in UK.

My trip to the UK last year got trashed due to the volcano, fights were cancelled. I am flying out today to FRA and then onto EDI tomorrow. I am wondering if the great volcano gods are angry with me, or if maybe I should take the hint and stay home.

I fly back on the 1st June, have to be home that day for my childs surgery. I may just go and do the things I have to do and then try to come straight back.

Yikes. Have a TATL to Delhi via CDG this coming weekend. When would be a good time to call DL/AF about potential rerouting over the Pacific?

I've a trip booked this wednesday to next monday (long weekend) to Reykjavik; am not sure whether to go or not. Anyway, I just called iceland express and they said if the flight is cancelled, I'll get a full refund, same if delayed by 5 or more hours. I'm just worried if I end up going to iceland and having to stay indoors, it would suck big time. There are few reports that the govt is urging people to stay indoors as much as they can because of possible air pollution.

Here's another BBC update:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-13498477

It looks like the ash has turned day into night, so I don't think your flight has much of a chance unfortunately...

I'm scheduled to return on the 31st also. Would rather reschedule than get stuck; let's see if the airlines open up options in that regard.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPad; U; CPU OS 4_3_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8J3 Safari/6533.18.5)

Hmm. I am scheduled JFK-LHR-AMS on Thursday night/Friday and back the same way Monday. I do have a long connection at LHR fortunately. Still getting a bit concerned about either missing it or getting stuck in AMS or LHR.

I have a TATL flight this Friday and return on Tuesday so it's like playing Russian roulette with impending travel plans.

I have coworkers in Dublin right now. Hopefully they'll be able to get out at the end of the week.

Or Bollocks! as we say in England

Looks like my chickens might come home to roost and my habit of buying cheap OneWorld connections to supplement my cheap transatlantics may well collapse like a house of bodged metaphors
