Timeshare: "Extra week" with Interval for depositing week. Feedback Please.

Hey not sure if this is the place to talk about timeshares or not, newbie here

We got a deal in the mail from Interval International that offers an "Extra Week's Stay" if we deposit our Marriott week before June 19th.

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this and whether the extra week is really what it says?

Thanks!

It's legit, they sometimes make this offer to people who have "high demand" weeks/resorts. I got one once but it was restrictive on which weeks/resorts I could use (it was spelt out clearly in my offer, so if it's not in yours then you are getting a different offer than I got). You are likely to get more info on Timeshare User Group though.

I have received this offer in the past from RCI. The only restriction is that I could only book a place 90 days out from my travel date. That usually means only the unwanted resorts are whats left. Sometimes you can get lucky if you are willing to go somewhere that is off season, like the ski resorts in the summer or the beach resorts in the fall.

Have you gone to the tug2.net forums? Stands for timeshare users group and has loads of info for owners.

If its a nice place that you own compared to RCI's or II's run of the mill, I would check if you can trade to something desireable before pulling the trigger.

There's a reason why they want your week.
