Iirc, these bedbugs / Cimicidae were in a hospital located near a seedier area of Vancouver, British Columbia. And there was no actual proof these had actually transferred MRSA to anyone. No reason to panic, IMO.

And yes, there are many travel dangers, many infinitesimally small: those who enjoy Lake Tahoe, we have ground squirrels infested with fleas that often test positive for Yersinia pestis - "Black Plague" - as it is endemic up there.

Of course, you would have to be camped near the sites, and they are usually closed to camping when trapped squirrels show infected fleas.

So that's where we have come to. Reserve a classy room, find it full of bugs, and get irritated when someone thinks that isn't right. Naturally now that we're a global economy, we have to live with whatever global travelers deposit when they visit us.

Wonderful. Remind me again how we're all become BILLIONAIRES thanks to globalization. Well, Orkin can come out a lot of times when you're a billionaire.

But I'm just getting impatient for my first billion. I know for a fact that other people are living in mansions with the billions they've made off globalization. But bug infestations start to wear think when the promised wealth hasn't shown up a decade or two after they first said this was the way for us all to get rich.

a)
b) Who told you the first time that you would become a billionaire?
c) The living standards of almost every resident of a rich country, no matter how poor, exceed the living standards of 99%+ of people living 200 years ago. We have all become rich, healthy, and educated.

Bit painful when the entire body is full of bite welts, and the attendant is questioning whether raising a concern is fuss?

Dude, its not easy sleeping in a bed continuously being bitten for 8 hours non stop.. please switch me a room

Cant speak to the MRSA part, but if you're interested in checking out which hotels have reports of bedbugs, you can try here http://bedbugregistry.com/ or here http://www.bedbugreports.com/

Too bad the link doesn't just click thru..

Funny that these registries exist.. cause many who experience bedbugs don't know the existence of the website..

Only for the US and I think Canada.. anything in Mexico?.. we're headed down to Playa Del Carmen
