Query Regarding Customs in UK
Hi,
I have a small question.
I am an Indian National and currently staying in USA from past nearly 2 and a half years and now planning to shift to UK.
My questions is that do I have to go through customs in UK for moving my stuffs. Somewhere I heard that if you are staying in a country for more than 2 years you don't have to go through customs.
Secondly I will be entering UK on Tier 1 visa and will be staying for just 1 week (for some interviews) and then will be moving to India for a vacation.
Can I escape from customs if I say that I might take these stuffs to India after a week and will do the customs there.?
I am not carrying big stuffs but yes some electronics items like 3 laptops, one SLR camera, etc cloths and other stuffs filled in 5 suitcases+1 handbag+1 guitar.
Thanks for any information

No, you can't. Whether you plan to remain in the UK for three hours or three years is immaterial when it comes to possible contraband you might be carrying in personal effects.
