Changing FF programs
I have status with Continental (only Silver Elite). For what ever reason they have eliminated many flights to SJO which is where I ususally fly.
I've read other posts about transfering status to other airlines. Could someone please tell me if this is possible and how I would go about checking it out?
Thanks so much.

Your best bet would be to make a shortlist of the airlines with the best service (in terms of frequency and stops) between your home and SJO, and check the FAQs in their respective "Miles & Points" FlyerTalk forums. These FAQs will undoubtedly include all you need to know about status matches and/or challenges.

I'd also read this thread in MilesBuzz, which summarizes a good deal of information regarding status matches among a variety of airlines.
Given that your status is with CO, your best chances for a status match are with non-Star Alliance airlines.
Alternatively, you might consider using flights on other *A airlines to maintain or even improve your CO status. This has some drawbacks, since airlines tend to treat their own elites a bit better than partner elites, but might work out depending on the specific benefits you're after.
