Question Transporting / Packing a scale model aircraft

I am planning to take a scale model of a Concorde (made of wood) as a Christmas present. This is a 1:100 scale model.

I plan to carry this in my checked baggage as I am quite competent with the use of styrofoam and bubble wrap and more importantly because of the dimensions. Will the shape of the object attract undue attention during security checks? I ask this as I my itinerary involves a stopover a well. So I would like to minimise 'special attention' towards my luggage to ensure collection at destination.
I am travelling MAN-MAA with stopover in AUH.

On a side note, is it alright to carry deflated football / soccerball in checked baggage?

I would be grateful if the wizards on this board could help with this issue

Kind Regards,

freemind001

Does the nose of the model have a point?

The Concorde nose is pointed. I have attached a link to this pic

Will this be a problem?? I can reduce the sharpness with masking tape and bubble wrap....

Please let me know your valuable opinion

The reason I asked is the TSA confiscates nail clippers. I'm not sure if they'd consider a pointy model airplane to be a weapon. Absolutely ridiculous, but there you are...

"Sir! You can NOT bring that airplane on this airplane!"

If it's in checked baggage, nobody will care.
