Checking Bags Thru...

Have DEN - DFW - FRA - AMS friday, can I check my bags all the way through to AMS even though.

1) DEN - DFW is on a different ticket.
2) DEN - DFW is on UA, everything else is on LH.

Does it make a difference that its all *A?

All segments in F.

Good luck. I'm 3 for 4 attempts for a single UA-KL connection two years ago. I did SFO-LHR-AMS. SFO-LHR was on UA. LHR-AMS was on KL. One of Four bags missed the 3-4 hour connection at LHR. Filing the claim and going back and forth to check for a couple days at AMS was no fun. KL found the bag and got it to me about four days later after I already left AMS for somewhere else. The bag looked like it had been handled by gorillas. Trip insurance covered some of the damage and other luggage delay expenses.
The other trick was at SFO, I was unable to get my LHR-AMS boarding pass from KL. I had to get it at LHR.
Speaking of *A, I recently got a biz ticket through UA for SJC-PHX-CLE. SJC-PHX was a UA code share on US. PHX-CLE was a UA code share on CO. The three systems would not talk to each other. It was very difficult to check-in. UA's confirmation code was worthless. I had look up both US' and CO's confirmation codes and go on their separate websites to select seats. Baggage check-in at SJC via US was quick, too quick. Bag went down the conveyor belt before the counter agent showed me the bag tags which showed that I had to recover the bag at PHX. I could not get the PHX-CLE boarding pass until after reaching PHX. 3 out of 4 agents in the US terminal at PHX couldn't give me proper directions for getting to the CO terminal.
Whenever UA is part of the equation, something always seems to get messed up for me.
