Completely disagree with this. The business class seats on the AF A380 are worse then that of the AF 77W. Far too close together (you can touch the seats in front of you with your foot while your knee is almost at a 90 degree angle), far too narrow, and there are so many J seats on the top deck that service can be awful. I wrote a trip report about this if you are curious: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/trip-...sq-new-af.html

Take the 777 unless for some reason the "coolness" of the A380 is worth it to you.

From SEA, LAX, ATL, JFK, Air France wins hands down over Delta.

If you do not mind doing one stop, I would suggest BA. They probably have the best J product between US-EU...

Out of curiosity, how so?

Disregard the non-stop/direct benefit of flying AF.

If you don't mind a longer ride and a connection Emirates out of LAX is pretty much right up there with the best premium flying I have ever done. Just did this trip LAX-DXB-LHR a few weeks back. Plus, you can ride the 380 upstairs on the CDG connection. Talk about freaking sweet...full sit-down bar in the back. AMAZING premium service.

Assuming the OP doesn't want to fly twice as far as he/she needs to, AF is more than adequate even from the West Coast, and Open Skies (by BA) from the New York or DC areas is truly superb, and probably the best non-stop business class between the US and Paris (Orly, not CDG).

By reputation, a bit tired.

Care to disclose your departure city? Business class seating can vary by aircraft yet it makes no sense to suggest carriers and routings that have you go 4,000 miles out of your way in each direction.

This is Flyertalk so often that is EXACLY the goal, particularly this time of year.

I am not suggesting this is a good choice for convenience but we are talking about BA with a connection on the DL board so I am just pointing out that you really have not been in premium business until you have flown Emirates or Qatar. I have had my butt in AF/DL/BA/NW/AA/UA Business seats to the EU many many times and none of them are even close.

This is not a DL specific topic and I am moving this discussion over to TravelBuzz.

That gives some pretty good choices, although scheduled aircraft vary by season:

- From DTW, an AF A330 with angled beds (sometimes A340)

- From JFK, an AF 777-300 or 777-200

- From ATL, an AF 747 or DL A330 (skip the 767-300ER)
