Horsepasture River in western NC has four gorgeous waterfalls within a few miles:

The overlook at Wyalusing Park in Wis. above the confluence of the Wisconsin and Missippi Rivers is beautiful.

And then there is the Wailua river on Kauai - some magnificent views there.

Lac d'Allos in the Hautes-Alpes of France, not too far from Digne-les-Bains. It's a relatively small lake, but the largest at its altitude (2200+ meters) in Europe. It sits in a valley surrounded by dramatic mountain peaks, and has gorgeous blue-green waters.

Also, I haven't been there, but Okanagan Lake has always looked really beautiful and worth a visit.

I like Waterton Lake.. Sort of neat when crossing the lake, you cross the US/Canada border without actually going through customs.

Pangong Lake

Split between India (ladakh) and China. Absolutely stunning turquoise colours against the backdrop of the Himalayan desert. The approach is equally amazing for goign through amazing mountain passes (3rd highest pass takes you there) but also unusual fauna (yaks). Perfect day trip for anyone in Leh.

West lake in Hangzhou is a terrible kitschy Chinese tourist trap.
