Purchasing 3 seats for 2 passengers

Can't afford bussiness or first class to Asia. I am thinking of buying the 3 seat row for the 2 of us in coach.
Open Jaw ticket Air Chine JFK to Pek non stop. Then AA[CATHEY PACIFIC] from HKG to Jfk a few weeks later also non stop. Would a good travel agency book this for me? Would it be deficult to purchase?Do I need a medical or handicaped excuse to get these tickets? Just need some advice.

Most airlines allow this no problem. You might not get points for the second seat but buying it shouldn't be an issue. The ticket will be issued in the name LASTNAME/ExtraSeat or something like that generally.

It is likely a better idea to purchase on the phone or via a TA to make sure they understand what you're trying to do, but it shouldn't be a problem to make the purchase the way you are describing.
