I've been amazed at how fast the new posts on this site scroll. A lot of very busy people. That led me to wonder something. Are a lot of you sitting in a layover situation at an airport, reading and posting on your laptops or other portable computing devices. Given the number of people at any one time who are in the midst of a trip, that could explain the high volume of messages here. In my recent trips, I've seen quite a lot of people in airport terminals on their laptops. The very fact that the security tips include how they want to see your laptop (out of the case, visible) tells me that there are a lot of traveling notebooks out there.

Personally, I only read FT when I am in the comfort of my own home or in a hotel room. I almost never browse FT while in an airport, on my blackberry, basically while I'm on the go.

Others on this board are definitely not like me.

I read FT mostly when I am traveling or short before upcoming trips to catch up on the latest news.

Currently sitting in SIN F lounge waiting for my LH 779 flight to FRA

Well, there's one anyway. I think I'd be tempted to do a search for my next destination if I were out on a trip. Before going to Bulgaria, I spent some time on Virtual Tourist forum, especially the sections for cities I knew we were going to visit. It was somewhat informative for me.

Whenever I'm in an airline lounge I always use the desktops to read FT. Plus I always leave the page open when I leave. Always a chance some frequent traveller who has never heard of this site will read it and become addicted as well.

Usually on FT when I'm at a hotel or in the airport. Currently at the domestic MLL at YYZ T1.

I work from home. Whenever I am tired of working on whatever I was working on I pop on to various boards to read and post. This means I am in and out five to 10 times a day.

I read whenever I get a few free minutes to check. Sometimes hundreds of times a day, sometimes not at all

I am similar to the above post. Sometimes many times a day. Sometimes none at all. I have been looking and posting on FT from a wifi enabled Amtrak Station or Acela train, now that they are online.
