Name on booking is incorrect...sort of

I just noticed that a ticket I booked for an upcoming flight has my first name and middle together as one name. I booked the ticket through ebookers and they said it doesn't matter. Is this true?

I think so. I was flying with a friend once and his ticket was issued to "FirstMiddle Lastname" (since there was no Middle Name field and not enough characters in Firstname available). Didn't cause any trouble

Definitely true for us last month LAX-HNL and back (on Northwest/Delta) - our names were combined as FIRSTMIDDLE and there was no problem at any point. I mentioned the airports/airlines for comparison but it seems like this should be consistent everywhere.

UA does this - they only have a middle initial field, so if you have a middle name, it's actually put in as "FIRST MIDDLE" in the first name field. When the boarding pass prints out, they're concatenated with no space in between. It has never caused me problems.

It's usually not a problem and if it results in an issue being raised, it's normally one that can be easily resolved and/or explained away on day of departure.

Enjoy your trip and don't worry about it.

US merges first + middle into one as well. I called once and was told that there is no space for a separate middle name, so they are merged together. Probably nothing you can/need to do, I'm sure TSA is used to seeing this...

Thanks, all. I'd never seen this before but I'm guess it's happened to me and I just hadn't noticed.

Hopefully it won't make it a hassle to get my miles credited but sounds like it shouldn't be.
