Fuel App?
I have been using Gas Buddy to find the cheapest p[lace to get fuel when traveling. Unfortunately, it seems it is getting worse and worse when it comes to accurate gas prices. What fuel pricing apps do you use, and do you find any more accurate than others?

Honestly? ESPECIALLY when I'm traveling, I have 99 things going on and the price of gas isn't one of them.
Between "cheap gas" and "stupidly expensive gas" you're looking at a variance in the cost of a fillup of what - $2 perhaps? Even if it's twice that, am I going to drive out of my way several blocks just to pick up a few discarded dollar bills? No. So I'm not doing that in my rental car, either.

As much as I really despise the video game nature of the app, Waze usually is very up-to-date on gas prices, traffic conditions, etc because of the points earning. I've actually seen the gas prices "updated" 3 or 4 times in the same minute because of that factor.
Plus, you get the added bonus of a GPS app as well. The Garmin apps are supposed to be just as good.

Google Maps has what I presume is the same price data as well now. Not as clean an interface as Gas Buddy, but potentially better if you're looking for something "along the way".

Personally I tend to look before I heard out, as I am not too fond of trying to manage my phone while I am driving.

In Maps for Android, a "search" (magnifying glass) icon appears at the top right of the moving map. Tapping that exposes a set of labeled icons:

If you tap the gas stations icon, gas station information appears on the moving map. Tapping one of the information boxes pops up a menu you can tap to add the selected stop to your route.
- Search along route
- Gas stations
- Restaurants
- Grocery stores
- Coffee shops

For example, within a few miles of SFO airport Gas Buddy is reporting prices ranging from $2.29 to $3.99 per gallon for regular gas.

I don't think anybody here is debating what one worries about while traveling in their rental car. Sounds like your a busy traveler with 99 things happening simultaneously, so I can't blame you for not having the time to worry about gas.
