Lightbulb Has anyone used muchopoints?

I was talking with some of my consultant colleagues recently and they were talking about a Free tool that helps you to maximize hotel reward points against the 7 largest hotel chains worldwide. The tool is call muchopoints..apparently they used a 'muchoscore' algorithm that considers your status, credit cards used, welcome gift, etc......before i go ahead an book anything through them I would like to know if anyone had any experience with this tool !!! feedback is appreciated....I do not want to show up in the hotel to find out that all was a rip off tool to get my credit card number....

There is a review on FrugalTravelGuy.com:
A New Startup Wants To Help You Maximize Hotel Points

However, in my various experiments with Muchopoints, there are some of limitations Ive found in the system. To begin with, using Muchopoints requires searching with a grain of salt. When comparing on Muchoscore alone (their proprietary algorithm that maximizes opportunities), the program looks squarely at points earned, regardless of distance or price. For example: using Muchopoints to search for a hotel for an upcoming trip to Southern California, the best identified earning opportunity was one of the highest priced hotels, which is also over six miles away from my destination (which translates easily to 90 minutes of driving in Southern California traffic).

Although I wouldnt earn as many points, there are better-priced hotels much closer to my destination. In short: booking on Muchoscore alone does not balance point-earning opportunities with convenience and price.

thank you for the tip!......i tested for my engagement first week of May at Manhattan NY....I got a top selection of a choice hotel for $372, not bad for been manhattan...but you are right, when i tested on Houston downtown it showed me a muchoscore top selection more than 8 miles away ....what i like is that they have the option of sort by price and distance though!
