Booking tool w/ layover

Whenever I am trying to book a flight on UA's website, there is little help in planning layover times. The website only ever shows 'reasonable' flights, but does not really allow me to plan say a 5-6 hours layover easily.

Is there a trick, or some other tool that can be used for that?
