Newbie question about ExpertFlyer and KVS Tools

Newbie question about ExpertFlyer and KVS Tools
Hey all, I apologize in advance if this is a stupid question, but if I only travel internationally on frequent flyer awards a couple times a year, is it worth buying and learning how to use ExpertFlyer or KVS Tools? Would I be better off paying someone such as ThePointsGuy to help plan my travel if it's a complicated itinerary? I'm not trying to do mileage runs to keep status. Thanks for your time.
