Web based planning tool
I am trying to organize a trip for a group of 10 this fall. We are going Italy where we are goingto spend 2 weeks enjoying life, wine and each others company.
We are all busy people, living in different time zones and I am looking for a site/ calender software tat would allow us to easily communicate and plan museum and winery visits, upload maps, pictures, etc
I looked at google calender and tripit but I was wondering if anyone knows of a better online planning tool.
Thanks

You could do a Gnatt Chart using sharedplan.com with web access. That would be a memorable holiday that everyone would talk about for a long time.
I've used Yahoo Groups for a member's only group of 10 people. It never seemed perfect to me, but it gives a calendar, photo albums, file archive.

I would use (heck do use) google caledar and tripit. send clear instructions to all on how to create both accounts AND share a tripit calendar and your sorte. Its now a standard part of my travel kit and consequently all who work for and with me.

We use a combination of Backpack and Basecamp from 37signals as project management tools. I use them within my group and with collaborators. They let you have a message board, a whiteboard, upload files and assign to dos and milestones.

Of course for free, Facebook is an obvious solution

Www.doodle.com lets you set up polls etc to see who wants to go where. Then you set up other polls to work out orders etc. Its free and easy.
