AD-54 should do the trick.
Are they the same thing? if not, what are the pros cons? of one vs the other? |

Sorry,been on holiday :)
The first thing to do is un-install pc suite and download the latest version, which is now OVI suite. This includes the SW updater, as well as a lot of newer features. http://europe.nokia.com/get-support-...okia-ovi-suite Then try again. It can be a bit tricky sometimes, but it should work fine. What errors do you get? It's still the Nokia Suite for the E51. |
PC Suite vs N-Series PC Suite vs Ovi Suite
I think it a bit confusing why we need 3 different products to do largely the same thing. I understand part of it is due to the device, but surely that can be fairly easy to distinguish...?
As a N-series device owner (finally got the N97 the other day), which one should I be using? I use it to sync contacts and calendars from Outlook and the occasional map loading and application installing. I copy files as well, but I just hook up the device with my PC and treat it as a storage device. I also sync music, but I do it through WMP. It'd be nice to have one Suite that does all that (and make me a coffee while it's at it)... |

From everything I have read at Nokia Europe, the new Ovi suite is not for the E51 (I have one). It's not in the list and it is not returned in the device search. Do you know something that the website does not?

I thought the AD-44 had a 2.5mm plug and the AD-54 had a 3.5mm one; and that the 5610 had a 2.5mm socket. But I defer to cressers...
When mention of the 2.5mm jack came, I also re-checked on nokiausa.com incase the north american variant had 2.5mm, but it has 3.5mm. The listed inbox accessory for north america is: Nokia Stereo Headset HS-45 with AD-56 (remote control) |
I have an E71, and am greatly enjoying it. My question concerns operating system (and any other) updates.
I acquired the phone in late November 2008, and have not had the need to add any applications - my needs are met by the apps that came with the phone. Going with the "why disturb something that is working" philosophy, am I missing out on any radically important functionality or new features by not upgrading the OS? I'm not a techno-phobe and have no problem updating my work or personal computer systems, but this is my first smartphone, so I am a little inexperienced in the need-to-upgrade field. The phone is a US-spec E71-2, acquired factory-unlocked. Thanks for any advice/responses. |

Thanks for any advice/responses. if you use the pc SW that came with the phone, that will inlude the nokia sw updater, and this will tell you if there is any new SW available. Have a look at store.ovi.com you may find some useful apps there. Many are free, or fun, or stupid, or expensive ;) I would look at files.ovi.com also. |
Hi cressers and thanks for initiating this thread.
When travelling frequently through different time zones its really mess up the calendar appointments. I have been in contact several times with Nokia support and looking through all the forums related to this issue and there are many travellers experiencing this problem, but no solutions. Except from happy people telling me to calculate the time zone when entering the appointment - clever..:-), but not the way I want to work. I can see from your previous answer in this topic that there will most likely not be a patch coming soon to repair this malfunction, so if I install another pim/calendar in my E71 can I remove the built in Nokia calendar? |
Hi cressers,
Any info on when V20 for the N97 will come out? 'October' is a bit vague... :) Thanks. |

ALternate is to not change the phones timezone at all, use a watch. The calendar events will still show at the correct time for the local meetings - not awesome. |
