Video Card Problem on MacBookPro?

Hi All,

I've been experiencing a problem where my 18" MBP display messes up and gets really distorted. Then after a few minutes, it goes back to "normal."

Is this a video card problem?
Any ideas where to get it fixed in Hong Kong?

Thanks

When the NVidia chip on my 15" MacBook Pro died, the display simply went dark. Just a guess, but your problem could involve an intermittent connection, like on a ribbon cable that has been flexed too many times.

Did you download the new Nvidia video driver last week by any chance? Apple had to take the new driver back because it didn't solve the problems it was intended to do and caused actually new problems. Apple takes down NVIDIA Update... why?

it's a known issue and they should not be charging you anything to look at or fix it.

Where did you get an 18" MBP? :-)

It does make a difference, since the 17" never had the nvidea problems, whereas the 15" ones clearly did

yes they did, and they're covered in the repair extension.
