I have got to find a way to organize our lives. As a busy traveling mom, I'm having a hard time keeping it all straight and hoping some of you women might be able to help.

We are so incredibly busy, that we can't even remember the simplest of things - like emptying trash on trash day, swim classes, etc. We have a large house, which seems to constantly require service, projects, etc and we just can't keep it all straight.

We really need some kind of electronic system for to-dos, recurring chores, having chore lists for family members, keeping track of house maintenance, etc. that is easy to use, and that I can access via any computer/or an iphone/touch.

Do any of you use electronic ways to organize your families lives/chores/home management? I use Outlook for work things, but its really not user friendly for home related tasks/chores/lists, etc.

I use Excel for house projects, with separate tabs for things we do and things to be contracted. Works well, provided one checks it.

No kids, thankfully, so that reduces a good bit of the ToDo list.

There's always Google calendars, too. You can set up a site for your family and grant everyone in the family access to the shared calendar and have individual family members specific tasks show up on their personal version of the calendar.

Toodledo is a web-based todo list manager that includes a dedicated iPhone app, as well as a regular mobile web interface for non-Apple phones. A third-party developer has used their API to build an Android app for the G1 users out there. They offer a very functional free option, or a "Pro" account for ~$15/year. On the PC end, you can obviously interact through your browser, or there is an Adobe AIR app, and gadgets for the Apple Dashboard and Vista sidebar.

Their setup works well within the context of GTD as the place to keep all of your lists. They have linkages with Twitter, Jott, Google Calendar, Firefox, and RSS feeds, plus you can always dump your data out to a CSV and take it somewhere else if you want to leave - your data isn't held hostage.

I've been using them since November and I've been pretty happy with the service.

I like rememberthemilk.com for task management. The basic (including mobile) version is free.

I considered Remember the Milk as well, but you have to be a paid user of their service to use the iPhone app, and they don't have the capability to sync with Outlook (depsite people asking for it for over a year).
