You're right. I did ask

I guess I'm just a tiny bit surprised that there aren't prepaid/refillable data plan sims (or non GSM analogs) like there are re-fillable voice sims.

Plus, you *did* ask for any pay as you go plans, and he mentioned one I hadn't even heard of

I agree though, it does seem a little pricey...

I think I've once also heard about Cricket offering a prepaid data solution...
Come to europe for a few days and $249 looks like peanuts when 'fast food' quality food is $30+ a person! for $249 you get 60 days service and hardware that you own, to compare I paid $59/month for boingo WIFI and have basically ZERO coverage even in places they claimed, I am going to seek a refund!

Anyone else notice how they, right on their home page, redefine the word "unlimited"?

$59.95 Unlimited 1
$49.95 500 MB
$34.95 250 MB
$24.95 100 MB

1 to 5 GB

I realize that other carriers do the same thing, somewhere buried in their T&Cs, but if you show a table of tiered plans, like these guys do, be honest and don't try to fool me.

Can you use an existing Sprint Data usb or card and have its ESN registered to the Slingshot account?

Is this a true montly account or is there some kind of montly fee but one must buy 12months? The current price of $10/month is pretty attractive for unlimited wifi use. In fact, it might very well be worth it for use on a single given day.

Just fyi, activating and using/adding to a Starbucks card at least once a month gets you two free hours of AttWifi a day.

Rovair.com

Check out http://www.rovair.com. If you already have a card ask about their "Rovair On-Demand". This is a service which allows you to activate and deactivate a wireless account.

Yep... $40/month unlimited. They have a USB modem for $69 AR. If you're in their service area, it looks like a good option.
