CAD workstations on ebay

This doesn't relate to travel, but probably the right place to ask. I've been looking at some CAD workstations on ebay and there's some pretty good deals out there. How would dual Xeon compare to current offerings? Does anybody have any experience or suggestions on this kind of purchase? Here's an example.

BTW, here's a new unit from TigerDirect.com. Thanks for your help.

I think that the specs on those two are relatively comparable. I think that you'll want more RAM and a better video card for heavy CAD usage, but the last CAD package I used was CadKey 7 in 1996. The newer processor is faster, but not enough to make a huge difference, I don't think.

Also consider what support you'll get if the system dies. That is often more valuable than the actual hardware costs. Of course, if they are cheap enough, just buying a spare box to have around can help on that front.
