Blackberry Bold and BA.com
I recently bought a Blackberry Bold as needed a Blackberry device for my new job. I had the choice of any Blackberry so it seemed sensible to opt for the Bold which appeared to be their flagship model over the Pearl and Curve.
To keep things relatively ontopic, I was hoping I would be able to use it to online check-in via my BA Executive club account. However it really doesn't like the site at all!
1 - When I visit the BA.com homepage, the top right which offers login and password does not clear automatically when positioning the cursor in the box. I have to delete the faint grey text first!
2 - When I finally type my details in and submit, after about 30 seconds of "Running scripts" and "Loading images" I get the dialogue box up saying "Unable to render page". And that's that. Game over.
3 - I then tried a different tact. Choosing Manage My Booking from the BA homepage and then entering my PNR and surname causes the browser to freeze on the subsequent page which is shown while the booking is retrieved!
Anyone else have this problem?
I have tried to download Opera mini (there isn't a full version as it seems biased toward Symbian and Windows Mobile devices). However the Opera Mini doesn't work either as it cannot connect to the internet. However all my handet APN settings are correct.
There seems very little advice on the crackberry forums for the Bold.
Anyone have any advice here or experiencing similar issues.
I'm having problems with the Blackberry Maps as well if anyone wants to hear all about that as well!
So not great really for a 400 device (was bought SIM free).

I am guessing BIS as I setup the Blackberry service using http://www.InstantEmail.t-mobile.co.uk it asked for my device PIN and IMEI, etc. My email works flawlessly - I was amazed it was able to work out the mail servers, etc, just by providing my email address and password.

My advice is to make sure you are on the very latest handheld code. I've had the bold for at least 6 months and every release of new code seems to be a step forward. I'm not sure which carrier you're on but see if there is somethign newer available. Also bear in mind that it's a mobile device, not a full O/S!
