Finding an iphone in WV

As a non-O2 customer in the UK, getting an iphone is a little troublesome/expensive. However, via my other half I have a contract with At&T in the US.

We are both due to upgrade on the contract, so in theory an ihpoen would start at $199. In Ł that's not too bad at all.

Anyway, having asked at the closest At&T store, the somewhat odd reply was that they didn't "like" iphones, and so refused to stock them. Despite this, the website says that the particular brach (Clarksburg, WV), stocks iphones.

Does anyone have experience of a central WV store that would stock them? Alternatively, would they accept a phone reservation, on the basis I am over the UK next week?

thanks

The AT&T network coverage in WV is pretty poor and the weak iPhone RF performance surely won't help.
You may be able to find a store that sells it, but don't expect it to work well in WV.

Are you planning to buy it in the U.S. and use it with a British SIM when returning?
Have the latest iPhones been cracked yet so that you can use any SIM in an AT&T phone?

Central WV is fine coverage-wise on the unlocked G600 I have. I was just surprised when the AT&T clerk went into quite a long explanation as to why iphones suck.

The plan is to use in the US and UK, though if it's just US that's ok.

Plus, coverage in many parts of WV sucks, regardless of carrier
